| Basically I get to choose a topic for an english class. I have decided to talk about big brother issues when it comes to automobiles. Here are a couple of points that im going to be touching on. The use of GPS systems and similar means of tracking(ie onstar) in a car and how it can be abused(think supreme court ruling that onstar cannot be used as a wire tap because it would then place an "undue burden" on the system because it would not function properly. Or how about the recent case where that ?congressman? from ?south dakota? ran a stop sign and hit someone? I remember one article i was reading said that his cars computer was subpoened for information. I also think that the car was a 95...meaning it would not be OBDII and the computer could provide more information. My next question being how long untill you can be pulled over for suspicion of speeding and have a warrant issued on the spot for your computers information, once its spits out the data telling on you for speeding your issued the ticket....how far off is soemthing like that. Or how about in britan a system they were considering that would be installed in every car there and would moniter your speed and position at all times, and when you broke a speeding or lane change law you would be automatically sent a ticket. Anyways i would love to hear your guys input on these(potentials for abuse, ways it can be corrected etc), as well as any other articles or similar situations to these.
